Dominate are a band from Colombia that plays a mixture of black and thrash metal and this is a review of their 2016 album "Calicem Serpente" which was released by Black Serpent Records.
A very fast thrash influenced sound along with a great amount of blast beats start off the album along with some high pitched black metal screams a few seconds later and they also mix in elements of the first wave of the previous mentioned genre while having a more up to date production.
A great portion of the music is very heavily rooted in the 80's and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while you can also hear a great amount of melody in both t he riffs and guitar leads along with all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them and when tremolo picking is utilized it gives the songs a more second wave feeling and clean guitars are also used briefly.
Dominate plays a musical style that takes first and second wave black metal and mixes it with 80's thrash to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Anti Christianity and War themes.
In my opinion Dominate a very great sounding mixture of black and thrash metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Brave Warrior" "Evil" and "Cold Bloody Murder". 8 out of 10.
